Susan Strumpf

(She/Her)

Hello! My name is Susan Strumpf, and I am a certified school psychologist and school counselor. I have worked in school settings with students ages 3-18 years old who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Autism (ASD). Throughout my 30+ years as a School Psychologist, I was part of the Child Study Team, where I ran IEP meetings, conducted Psychological evaluations, facilitated social skills groups, and was part of the crisis team. As a School Counselor, I ran I&RS meetings, 504 Plan meetings, ran specialized groups as well as classroom based instruction involving social emotional topics.

Since opening Successful Student Services, LLC in 2022 I have worked with many parents, guiding them through the challenges of parenting, especially when their children have special needs or neurological differences. I have worked in families’ homes, providing strategies and skills for their children, and sharing these with the parents. I also work with daycare providers or schools to ensure that the school, family, and I are using the same language.

My advocacy work includes helping parents attain classification for their children, and guidance to ensure they are receiving all of the services their child is entitled to. I work on keeping their child in the district when appropriate and getting the district to pay for out-of-district placement when needed.

I am also an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, specifically with transgender children and adolescents. As a parent of a transgender child, I know the transition process can be extremely scary for both the child and the parents. Support groups for both children and parents are a very effective way to work through this process and see what life can look like with the child can be their true self.

I’m excited to announce that my office is now open for in-person sessions! Designed with children and families in mind, my office provides a safe, welcoming space for individuals, family, and small group sessions.

I am here to support you and your child every step of the way, and to ensure they have the tools and resources they need to thrive.
